Question by : are there any good reptile books about these snakes and lizards?
are there any good books about these species of herps that you guys know of “Boa Constrictors, Emerald Tree Boas, Green Tree Pythons, Green Iguanas, Monitor Lizards, and Tegus”, i’ve been real interested in these species of snakes and lizards as of lately and i’ve been doing tons and tons of research “Believe Me!” and a lot of reading and the only good books i’ve read so far we’re “Good Snakekeeping” by: Philip Persur, “Monitors, Tegus, and Related Lizards” by: Richard & Patrica Barlett, “The Green Tree Python and Emerald Tree Boa: Care, Breeding, and Natural History” by: Ron Kivit, Stephen Wiseman, & Andreas Kirschner, “Barron’s Keeping Snakes: A Practical Guide to Caring for Unusual Pets” by: David Manning, “Red-Tailed Boas and Other Boa Constrictors” by: Glen Drewnowshi, “Snakes: Giant and Non-Venomous Snakes in the Terrarium: Everything about Purchase, Care, Nutrition, and Diseases” by: Fritz W. Kohler, “Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates: An Identification and Care Guide” by: Patrica Barlett, “The Exotic Pet Survival Manual” by: David Alterton, and “Terrarium and Cage Construction and Care” by: Richard & Patrica Barlett, but do you guys know any other good books for those species I had listed or care sheets or if anything lol, if so…..please let me know and yes I do know that some of those species can be very expensive and hard to care for but i’m all in for it.

Well here are some books that were reffered to me By Central Virginia Reptiles and they are all great reads

“The biology, husbandry, and health care of reptiles Volumes i,ii,iii by Lowell Ackerman DVM

Anything by Roger Conant

Gerry G. Walls has published some interesting reads and is well versed in book knowledge but has limited hands on experience.

Anything by Dave and Tracey Barker”

There are not many Tegu Books as i am sure you may know but i came across a couple of must reads,

“01: Monitors, Tegus, and Related Lizards
02: General Care and Maintenance of Popular Monitors & Tegus
03: Understanding Reptile Parasites
04: Terrarium and Cage Construction and Care
05: Practical Guide for Feeding Captive Reptiles
06: Designer Reptiles and Amphinians
07: Lizard Care, From A to Z
08: Lizards, Complete Pet Owner’s Manual
09: The Lizard Keeper’s Handbook
10: Reptiles & Amphibians for Dummies”

Sorry if you have some of those books already listed but thats a straight copy from two emails i was sent with recommended books and all have helped better my understanding and care greatly.

These are some good articles i cam across my self on Tegu’s

You should also try and attend lectures, herp shows and talk to breeders/owners,even volunteer at your local exotic vet(Thats what i am currently doing),all in all i know i was not much help, but still hope i helped you man,Good luck,
